Welcome to CAPSNet
The CAnadian Pediatric Surgery Network (CAPSNet) is a multi-disciplinary group of Canadian health researchers working together on research issues concerning pediatric surgical care. To date there are 26 network members of which the majority are leading pediatric surgeons/surgical educators in their field. Group members expand other disciplines including: neonatology, perinatology, and medical genetics. The network comprises all 16 tertiary perinatal centres in Canada; many of which are associated with an academic institution. CAPSNet has also received backing from several stakeholders, including: the Canadian Association of Paediatric Surgeons (CAPS), the Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres (CAPHC), the Neonatal-Perinatal Interdisciplinary Capacity Enhancement (NICE) team and Health Canada. Financial support of CAPSNet's preliminary project ("Establishing best perinatal practices for Gastroschisis and Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia") has been provided by a grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
